Last week, I popped to see Haydn Williams to confirm the spec of my new 'St Evo' (Strat-style guitar).  While there, as always, we chatted and I asked to have a look at what he had knocking around.  After playing a wonderful Mojo (LP-style) and a 7-string Evo, I tried one of his traditional (non-traditional!) Evo.  I fell in love with it.  I bought it.

Really enjoying this.  I already owned an HJ Williams 'Lil '58 (NGD'd previously), a PRS-esque double-cut, which is my go-to guitar for all styles.  However, when I played this, I realised that the '58 just wasn't quite cutting it for heavier sounds.  It's a different neck profile, similar width and size but flatter.

Photos are a bit washed out unfortunately - it's more vibrant in the flesh.

Spec:

Buckeye curved top on one piece swamp ash body
Ovankgol and wenge neck
Seymour Duncan Pegasus and Sentient pickups
Schaller Hannes bridge

    Thats awesome.

As soon as I saw it I saw a first person view of a dying soldier  laying on his back looking to the firey sky through the Ardennes forest during ww2.

The black in the centre is a deathly goat greeting him.

    I don't know why I'd see that.
I've never seen wood like that before either, its great.
The only easy day, was yesterday...

That top is stupendous! I see a war seen of soldiers holding spears on the left, some kind of figure on the right in a dear skin and what looks suspiciously like Ronnie James Dio in the centre! It’s pure madness and brilliant to boot! Congrats on a fantastic guitar.
Tomorrow will be a good day.
