Telemaster. Body sourced. What next...

So I think I’ll go down the road of a
telemaster as my next guitar. I’ve sourced a body, two options so far, one includes finishing, the other, unfinished.
I am thinking of possibly getting a used CV tele and taking everything off it and putting it on the new body (and then sell the CV body)
Has anyone ever done this? Would it better to source a better bridge , pickups etc separately ....
