    I guess one man's "canon" would be another man's obscure.  There's an absolute treasure trove of under-heard stuff from '90s US alt/underground bands out there.  One of my favorites...

    I guess much of my CD collection could be described as obscure because very little of it is in the public eye/general mainstream. I guess it depends how far down the rabbit hole you want to go ;)
