G&l Legacy Tribute vs Jap Squier

Anyone able to offer insight on which is better? I feel like I need a strat but don’t want to spend too much (<300) and I’ve narrowed it down to these two ..

To offer background I had a classic vibe and I didn’t like the skinny neck and flimsy tremolo.. it’ll just be used to add texture to recordings .. also if anyone has a cheap strat kicking around (under £300) by all means pm me :-)

I have had 2 Jap squire tele. An 1984 E series which was great,but heavy. And now have a silver series jap tele,which isn't going anywhere.i have played a few jap strats too and usually have to change pickups and electrics . You can sometimes pickup a jap fender strat  for 3-400 if you are willing to wait,but obviously you are into Mex fender 2nd hand money. Good luck in your search..

Cheers! Funnily enough those are two I was watching .. question is whether I should get a G&l instead being as the pickups and trem are good .. hmmm anything especially good about jap squi

If there Is any local to you ,obviously try some if you can. Good solid guitars with added mojo.  There might be some dogs, as with any guitars, but when you find a good one you will know.. all the best.
