Anyone got/played a Guthrie Charvel?

Just looking at a Guthrie pickup switching diagram, I would be interested to know what the Single Coli Simulation sounds like? Any good?

Interesting that the 'toggle on' gives a "single coil emulation" in the bridge and neck positions, as opposed to literally a single coil. So I assume the emulation is some sort of combination of the two pickups within the humbucker stack. 

Also interesting that there's no option for the neck and bridge humbuckers in parallel or in anti phase.
