If you were posting pickups that came in a guitar, so never came in their own packaging, how would you wrap/package them to send?

First choice - cardboard box, padded with compressible foam.

Second choice - shedloads of bubble wrap inside a padded envelope.

You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

  • For humbuckers: each one bubblewrapped inside a plastic business cards box, if you have any spare

Hmmm. This makes me think I under packaged mine when I sold them. I just bubble wrapped them and put them in a padded envelope. Never had any complaints though.

I prefer acid free tissue paper scrunched up around the pickups ... put in a business card box (or one of the heavy card boxes we use, then put in a Mail-Lite Plus bubble envelope.

It is single coils I'm going to sell but I think I'll still get some business card boxes, they seem to be ideal. Maybe put 2 in 1 box and the other 1 in another.

All the above, but another way I’ve seen it done is with a chunk of foam rubber ;if you have any), with slots cut out for the pickups, then bubblewrap/cardboard.

  • I sold a JB to a chap in Colchester, and he wasn't in when I dropped it round to him, so I put it through the letterbox in a jiffy bag... it made a hell of a thump when it hit the floor... and he messaged me later to say that one of the coils was dead. Not sure if that was down to the drop or not. I ended up selling it to @Alegree; I don't know whether he'd know the answer to that?
Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

    Three stamps?

What's wrong with taping them together?
