PSA: Private Internet Access (PIA) being bought by shady malware distributor

If anyone's using Private Internet Access as their VPN, you should know they've just agreed to being bought out by a rather shady Romanian outfit called Kape, who have been caught distributing malware in their own software. My PIA subscription expires in February, but I'm not waiting and and looking for a new VPN provider.

One of the ones I'm looking at is Proton VPN, from the creators of are ProtonMail, known for their Swiss-based secure email system and they are having a Black Friday sale here:
