Which did you choose in the end? I'm looking for a pair to use with my keyboard headphone out or from the headphone out on my mixer. Is impedance something I should be concerned about with this application?

Nearly all headphones these days are low-impedance models which will give you plenty of volume from low-power sources. As long as the impedance is under 100Ω or so you'll be fine.

Thanks. I think I'll go with the M50x too.

I bought the M50x. I think they'll work well for my general-purpose use, including monitoring for recording, and editing/mixing. They do have quite a strong bass response, but not annoyingly exaggerated in my opinion, and easy enough to eq out.  If I got more into serious mixing and production then I'd certainly be better off with something else (probably open back) but for my current use I'm very happy with them.
