Which video software for split screen videos?

I'm doing one of those acapella songs and want to do a split screen video.

My experience with video is limited to Windows movie maker. Anyone got any suggestions on what I need? Preferably free/cheap/subscription (so I can just use it for a month)..

Hit film
Camtasia
Sony Vegas
Adobe premier 

Whichever you find easiest to use.   First 2 are free and excellent.

Recommend you try Resolve first. Very good and you can buy fairly cheaply for one off fee if you want to go for the Studio version. You'll need a decent GPU though.
