So ... much searching hasn’t given me a helpful result.
I would like a travel guitar, for practicing (I’ll have very limited space). It occurred to me that if you could just make a small “body” to accommodate a bridge and some kind of pickup, you just need a guitar neck.
I can’t seem to see anything though. Closest I’ve seen is the Erlwine Chiquita as a guitar in its own right, but I just want a short bit of wood to turn a neck into a guitar.
I get the whole thing would be horribly unbalanced etc. (but I could just play it almost vertically).
Does this exist? Am I being very stupid? Thanks!

Think Bo Diddley style, but minimised
For your purposes, the most sensible comparison is with the NS Stick. It embodies the concept that you describe. It features a screwed on neck to body joint. It is designed to be adaptable between conventional picking/fretting and two-handed tap/hammer technique.
In that case, most of the geometry of a Chapman or NS Stick is inappropriate.
