Do I need a power conditioner?

Hi all,

I'm just a bedroom player and I've come across an increasing issue. When we bought this house, we had it rewired.

Downstairs we have LED lights in the living room. Whenever they are on, I get a buzz through my amp. Same with when I am going direct into my audio device into the PC.
It's worse now as we have LED Christmas lights.

Do I need a power conditioner? If so, which one for bedroom use? Those power strips or do I need to get a rack mounted one?

I've tried a de-hummer and it made no difference.

Thanks

Rack 'power conditioners' are glorified power strips.

Anything that will *really work* will be very expensive- check out Furman 'Balanced Power' P2400.

  • Thanks - after reading more and more, it COULD be down to the fact my PC, speakers etc are on different power outlets. I think I need to move them to the same extension to remove ground hum.

  • Also make sure you don’t have too many things plugged into the same outlet. That cured a hum problem for me.
