Fender classic player sonic blue... How much are these worth

Thinking of selling mine, it is a fantastic start, but just feel it's time for a change. I can not see many for sale, not sure where to price it.

About £500 I reckon. A bit more and you might get lucky as it’s a desirable colour. A bit less and would sell in a few days on eBay.

Does obviously depend on condition though. Good guitars.

Yeah, the classic players seem to have gone up in value recently, they are great,I've had a couple. I reckon 450-500 but as said above they can go for more if people get in a bidding war.

I've got one, and it's not one I'd consider selling, mainly because I like it so much, but also because £500 does seem to be about the going rate for them but I think they punch well above their weight and would begrudge letting one go for that price

If this is the classic player 60s strat, I think some early variants (like one I sold dirt cheap on commission with Chandlers!!) were worth a few bob more as they had some supposedly custom shop Yarra pickups. Could be internet nonsense..

  • Thanks. I think I will have it set up by a luthier and see if I change my mind before selling. It is a nice guitar and I haven't had this one looked at yet

Judging from pics I’ve seen of CP Strats some of the early ones had AY initialled pickups, ie wound by a team supervised by Abby. Whether they sound any different being team built rather than personally wound by Abby and with her full signature on the base, who knows!
