First: Spear of Destiny, I think 85 or 86 on their World Service tour.
Last: Manic Street Preachers, around 1997 I think, in the Riviera Madrid. So long ago!
Best: Pulp at Glasto 95. "COMMON! PEOPLE! COMMON! PEOPLE! COMMON! PEOPLE!" etc.
Loudest: Half Man Half Biscuit. I had my head stuck in one of the PA speakers for some of the night.
Worst: Menswe@r, Brighton around 1994/5. They got rightly barracked by the crowd, they were already unravelling.
Most fun: Half Man Half Biscuit, Stow Hill Labour Club, Newport. 86 I think.
Most surprising: The Janitors, Sugarhouse Lancaster in 88 or 89. I wasn't sure what to expect and loved it.
    Most seen: Gene, 3 times.
    Next: Not sure.
Wish I had Seen: David Byrne on his latest tour.
    Craziest: Half Man Half Biscuit.
Some folks like water, some folks like wine.
    My feedback thread is here.

First: The Who (Who by Numbers, Leicester Granby Halls))

    Biggest: Led Zep (Knebworth)

Best: The Scorpions (Lovedrive tour, Sheffield)

Best sound: Steve Hackett (80s, Manchester Apollo)

Met the band: Jeff Beck (There & Back tour, with Mo Foster, Tony Hymas, Simon Philips)

Met most of the band: UFO (Obsessions tour, Schenker went and sat in a car)

Shouty metal: Lamb Of God with Five Finger Death Punch (Brixton)

Most surprising support: Cressida called in at the last minute to support The Cathedral (on their last gig)

Best front man: Liam Gallagher (Beady Eye, the Roundhouse)

One for the list: Deep Purple (Birmingham a couple of years ago)

Must mention(s): Dio (1st UK tour), Rainbow (1st UK tour), Wishbone Ash (New England tour, with Laurie Wisefield), Heavon & Hell (last tour, Hammersmith)

Punk memories: The Buzzcocks (Reading Sub 89)

Most mental: The Dropckick Murphys (the Roundhouse)

Favourite bands: Yes (Going for the Bum, Stafford Bingley), Rush (Moving Pictures, Deeside)

Worst sound: Linkin Park (the O2 - the sound system wasn't working properly), or Marilyn Manson (Brixton - just noise), or Extreme (Wembley, supporting Brian Adams - couldn't make out a note they were playing)

Got the CD: Crowded House (Wembley Arena - ordered the CD of the gig on the way in and picked it up on the way out)

    First concert - U2 @ Tiffany's Glasgow 1983

    Last concert - Shellac @ SWG3 Glasgow Dec 19

Best concert - Impossible question... Maybe one of Sonic Youth round about 86, Bad Seeds round about 2004, Fugazi in early 2000's, Sigur Ros in 2009, Efterklang, A Silver Mt Zion, Low... I'm not good at making decisions like that... Bob Mould? The Smiths were quite good.... I don't know...

Loudest concert - Maybe Swans, although Sonic Youth (in smaller venues), Dinosaur Jr, Mogwai and Mono get honourable mentions

Worst concert - Hmmm... Manic Street Preachers in King Tuts - lured by the hype - shite wannabe punk. To be fair there's probably been a lot worse. Pixies on their re-union tour a few years ago were a big disappointment.

Seen the most - Sonic Youth probably, although Low must be getting close

Most fun concert - remember supporting Jad Fair at the Cathouse in Glasgow, we ripped the utter pish out of him because he was cheeky about the amp he borrowed from me.

Most Surprising concert - Maybe the first time I saw Efterklang - utterly superb - I did't know how much I liked them until I saw them live, but loads of other wee bands - remember seeing Mogwai in a pub in Glasgow when they were wee guys and instantly realising they were something special

Next concert - Angel Olsen at Barrowlands, Feb, then A Winged Victory For The Sullen in March. Not going to Explosions In The Sky because it's two days before Angel and concerts are too expensive now...

Wish I had seen - The New Year, Bedhead, Codeine, The Afghan Whigs, Do Make Say Think... Loads....

Craziest concert - Vague memories of watching Blur while lying on top of a Transit at Reading 93. Echo & The Bunnymen in Portree 1983 - Skye didn't know what had hit it... Mogwai, Perth Theatre in 2011 - I guy stage dived from the balcony...

Wish I'd kept a gig diary....

I knew you'd come up with something interesting
So wish I had kept a diary ;)

  • First concert - Whitesnake, Glasgow Apollo 1980, Gary Moore supporting. Three Bursts!!!

    Last concert- Paul McCartney.

Best concert - Rolling Stones, Glasgow Apollo 1982

Loudest concert - Rainbow, Edinburgh Playhouse 1984, was directly in front of PA on RB's side of the stage, absolutely   deafening.

Worst concert - Bruce Hornsby & The Range, Glasgow Barrowlands. Dull beyond belief. Extreme Pornograffiti tour at the Edinburgh Playhouse, Gary Cherone's outfit, stage moves and patter were beyond cringeworthy. UFO at Glasgow Barrowlands on Michael Schenker's last tour. MS had been battered by Spike at a previous gig & was sporting a black eye. He was totally wasted and barely interested in playing, total shambles.

    Seen the most - Whitesnake

Most fun concert - Deep Purple, Knebworth 1985. Camping in torrential rain.

Most Surprising concert  - Barry Manilow, not my cup of tea at all but went along with the Mrs. Was cheesy as expected but I couldn't help being impressed by him as a performer, a total pro, had all the old biddies totally spellbound and can't half belt out a tune.

Next concert - Ozzy Osbourne / Judas Priest, already been cancelled twice, first time was the day after I bought the tickets as a present for my Mrs.

Wish I had seen - Led Zeppelin, just a bit too young to have seen them, caught Page & Plant a couple of times and saw Plant's first solo tour and JP with Aerosmith at Donington.

Craziest concert - The Damned in the club above Glasgow Apollo, Captain Sensible caught a full pint in the face before a note was played. To his credit he just plugged in and battered on with the gig. whole night was pint tumblers and gob flying everywhere.

Saw PIL at the Barrowlands, they walked off when John Lydon was hit in the face with a quarter bottle of whisky. Was during the encore so evening wasn't a total waste. John McGeoch was outstanding on guitar.

Angelic Upstarts at Newcastle Academy 30th Anniversary of Punk gig, Mensi ranting he was the hardest guy in the building, 48 and he could take any one of us, cue the inevitable full pint square in the face. He was helped off stage by a roadie and never seen again, set over after one song, which was a real shame as it was excellent.

  • First concert - Hawkwind, mid 70s

Last concert- Yazz Ahmed, Guild Hall School of music venue near Barbican

Best concert - really don't know

Loudest concert - probably Stiff Little Fingers, Edinburgh Playhouse 1981ish

Worst concert - hard to say, maybe last time I saw Hawkwind very early 80s, they just weren't bothered, Calexico & Iron & Wine last year, too much middle of the road harmonies stuff, Calexico better on their own with big band.

Seen the most - Hawkwind, Hamish Moore, Chuck Prophet?

Most fun concert - I'm not really a fun person

Most Surprising concert  - Maybe Black Diamond Heavies (Mark Holder the Guitarist was still with them) utterly excellent. Maybe re-formed Green on Red at Astoria, I thought I'd be disappointed, but they were great. First Aid Kit, thought they'd be good, they were way better & the two backing musicians were brilliant- I even enjoyed the drum solo.

    Next concert - Nothing booked

Wish I had seen - Too many to list probably, wish I'd been to the Neil Young gig ICBM went to

Craziest concert - One of the times I saw SLF probably

@erictheweary I saw Robert Cray probably when he first became a big enough name to tour internationally- absolutely fantastic gig, but I also find the records flat & disappointing.

  • First concert - Status Quo, 1984 End Of The Road Tour, Dundee Caird Hall. I was 9 at the time!

Last concert- Alice Cooper/Stranglers/MC50 - Aberdeen P&J last year

Best concert - Status Quo - Frantic Four Reunion Glasgow 2013. Any Dan Baird & Homemade Sin gig comes in a close second

Loudest concert - Groundhogs circa 2003 in a Dundee pub. They thought they'd booked Tony for a solo acoustic gig, but he showed up with a full band. Crazy loud, but great at the same time!

Worst concert - Transglobal Underground supporting Jimmy Page & Robert Plant in 1998. 1 hour of my life I'm never getting back. I was driving so couldn't even have a drink to take the sting off it!

Seen the most - Status Quo or the 90's-2000's Sensational Alex Harvey Band

Most fun concert - Slade 2018, we took my daughter there as a surprise as she really likes their music (not just the xmas song btw!). A massive sing-along from start to finish

Most Surprising concert  - Peter Frampton supporting Deep Purple around 2004. He was fantastic.

Next concert - Mick Fleetwood's Tribute to Peter Green concert in London

Wish I had seen - Rory Gallagher

Craziest concert - Dropkick Murphys. About 3 hours of energy condensed into a 1 hour gig

Most Disappointing Band - Sorry, added this category. This goes to Thunder, they've got a fair reputation as a live act. I however found them exceptionally dull to the point of average.

  • First concert - Foo Fighters & Cave In, Cardiff 2002

Last concert - Paul Gilbert, The Fleece, Bristol Sept '19.

Best concert - Mr Big, Bristol O2, Sept 2011. Great gig, met and chatted with the band at length afterwards.

Loudest concert - Velvet Revolver, Cardiff 2005. Ears rang for days afterwards

Worst concert - Alter Bridge, Cardiff, 2010/11 - by far the worst sound I've ever heard at a gig. Indecipherable, loud mush.

Seen the most - Manics, Keane, Extreme, Mr Big,/Paul Gilbert, Alter Bridge, James Oliver band/Glas

Most fun concert - Big Country, Thekla, Bristol 2007 - great atmosphere and below deck on an old cargo ship. Very interesting sound down there!

Most Surprising concert  - Keane supporting Travis in 2004 - went there expecting Keane to be a bedwetting misery fest, only to be blown away by their energy and soaring sound.

Next concert - Nothing booked yet.

Wish I had seen - The Police reunion tour, 2008, John Sykes.

Craziest concert - Iron Maiden, Cardiff 2003.

Last concert - Paul Gilbert, The Fleece, Bristol Sept '19.

Here's a guy I've tried to see several times, either solo or with Mr Big.  I've even bought tickets and arranged travel for at least two concerts and every time he comes round I end up with a massive dose of the flu and I'm always too ill to go!

Now, every time PG tours I just live in fear of catching ebola or something!
