PC touch screen advice please

We are running Win 7 ( yes i know ) at work ...and I have the facility for 2 monitors on my PC.

Im thinking a touch screen would be nice as we do lots of work with tech drawings in pdf, and expanding and moving them around would be handy.

Anyone using a tocuhscreen in such a way and does it work ok?  ...Ive seen things like Dell 24" for a few hundred quid.

I like a touch screen for browsing, but find it difficult to use for technical stuff. The finger doesn’t have the precision of a mouse. You can’t point something out with a finger without the risk of moving or changing something on screen. This won’t be a problem with PDFs, unless you’re using upgraded software which allows editing, where it’s constantly trying to select text and objects rather than move or expand the image. I’m happy to read PDFs on an iPad, but on a pc I have to resort to using a mouse.

Yeah I understand...it’s just that we often look at late drawings and on a small screen you are constantly zooming in for detail , so I thought maybe a bigger screen with touch zookeeper etc might be useful.
