Linux (MInt) compatible Audio Interface - are there any?

It looks like I'm going to have to spend some money on something....

Tried to connect my Katana (Mk 1) to the pc over the weekend, just to record along with a backing track. As I suspected, it seems it can't be done if running Linux.

So it's either an Audio I.F. that is compatible, upgrade PC/buy new (or reconditioned) laptop, or a some standalone solution that I'm unaware of!

I think an audio if would be cheapest solution - are there any that are known to work with LInux,

Yep - I run Linux (specifically, a weird hybrid of Ubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Xubuntu and Linux Mint), and I've had several interfaces that just work pretty much out of the box.

The best of them has been the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6. For a more affordable option, the Presonus Audiobox USB is also pretty darn good.

You could even go for old Firewire interfaces if you wanted really cheap (the TC Impact Twin, for example, works brilliantly), but that's a road you really don't want to go down unless you want endless faffing about with it.
