Gibson SG Special Identification

What's Hot

Hey!

I came across this picture on Instagram but couldn't find any information about it. It might be either a Made 2 Measure SG Special or a mid 1960's SG Special in faded Pelham Blue with a modified pickguard? This is hands down the most beautiful guitar I've ever seen.

Are you in love yet? Anyone got any info on this?

I wonder how much it would cost to order a similar one from the Custom Shop!

Thanks!

Not mid-60s Gibson. (Modern/Metric T-o-M bridge posts, no fret end binding nibs, wrong typeface on selector switch “coin”.)
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

I don't think it's a Gibson at all.  It says Rocker on the vibrola cover, also has dot inlays with a TOM and Lyre Vibrola

agree that there are issues that need further investigation as I can see a few mismatches here and there

I think that is one of Billy Rowe's Rock n Roll relic guitars.

Must admit it looks very cool in that finish

Is it a good Substitute for a Gibson

I brought a 'look a like' model some while ago, believing it was a Gibson and it wasn't, but now I've learnt more about guitars, so I now know that I won't get fooled gain

The cheaper way is to buy a new Gibson Sg Special in Pelham blue, put the joystick and a new bridge, replace the pickguard and wait until the colour fades into green...
    It may take a while.
