Moog EP-3 Expression pedal

DdiggerDdigger Frets: 2362
I was going to get an M-Audio EX-P expression pedal, but came across the Moog EP-3.

The Moog looks to be a good buy for £40 (similar prices at various outlets).

Any opinions on the Moog pedal?

Cheers,

Ddig

I have a Moog EP-3. It doesn't feel cheap but it is a plastic pedal, albeit a very solid plastic. The pedal movement is nicely damped and it's worked well with pretty much everything I've tried it with, apart from a Line 6 M5 which for some reason requires the Line 6 expresssion pedal.

whats the recommeded pot value for expression pedal with the FX pedal or pedals you want to control ..?

    The M -Audio is 10k and EP3 is 50k

I have an EP3, which I use with an Atomic Amplifire. Very pleased with it.

It's solid enough, I use it at home with my FX8 and it does the job.

Thanks for the feedback on usability and build quality.

Thanks JMP220478 for the handy link.

I don't have the effect pedal yet, it is discontinued and there is not much info on it, so I am still at the 'reasearching' stage.

    Cheers,

I've been gigging with one for years... controls mix level on my memory man.

Despite being plastic it's stood up really well.

Also... it's really weird that MOOG is the budget friendly choice lol

I have one, been fine. I have a Roland one as well which, I think, would be more expensive from new but I prefer the feel of the Moog.
Didn't work with my Line 6 M9 which needed the Line 6 specific one which was a bit pants in comparison to the Moog.

When I was going to Uni open days with my son we went to the University of Surrey which has a Moog room - a small fortune in Moog gear, for fanboys blag your way onto an open day for one of the music courses!

mburekenge..  yep, I saw one advertised and thought they had made a mistake, but it is more of less the same price everywhere.

I thought Moog gear would be chuffing expensive.

I used one for many years as well, no problems at all. It's a solid piece of kit but then again so are most of the ones from well-known brands like Roland, KORG, etc.

I've been looking into this, isn't it the Moogerfooger pedals that were discontinued?

As far as I can see the EP-3 pedal is still in production.

FB, the pedal is a discontinued EHX pedal.

The Moogfooger Drive pedal looks great, but it wasn't quite what I was after.

I think the EP3 came out around the time of the Minifooger range rather than the Moogerfooger range. I know when I bought my EP3 there were still EP2s in the shops and the Minifoogers were a new range as I bought the delay fairly soon after launch.
The Minifoogers had cosmetic updates ( went from all black to black and white ) although I think now discontinued and a couple of the models were discounted to clear.
    Anyway, EP3 is all good.

    So...

    I got a Moog EP3.

A no nonsense pedal at a no nonsense price. Plastic, but solid. Would definitely recommend.
