Saving Time

I did a live recording recently using Tracks live on the laptop and my QU16 recording 16 tracks for about a 45 minute set. The problem was when I went to save the file with all its encumbered bits the lap took about 25 minutes to save the file which turned out to be about 9 gig big.

Is this a normal situation or is just the lap showing it’s age?

What sample rate were you recoding at?

At 44.1kHz you should have been below 4Gb https://www.colincrawley.com/audio-file-size-calculator/  but yes, it will be a big file.

I'm no expert but 25min sounds like a long time

The QU sample rate is  48 kHz/ 16 bit WAV.
