Out of interest, is Peter Cook himself still around?  And is/was he the same Peter Cook of Peter Cook's Guitar World?

Nope. But Martin Degville is in front of her...

You can see a little of Peter Cook's past in some of the body shape.
Exhibit a,. A Shaftsbury Ned Callan, known somewhat unkindly as a Knobbly Ned back in the 70s when they came out. Peter made the 'Knobbly Ned' as a cheap but high quality alternative to US brands ... before Japan started to produce the really good stuff.
I've been wanting one of these ever since I worked in a music shop in my teens ... we had a second hand one in and it played beautifully ... but sadly I couldn't afford it.
The original Knobbly Neds were made by the Shergold factory and were *very* good - the bass was well liked by Entwistle and Mike Oldfield to name but two.

    https://www.shergold.co.uk/models.html  (scroll to the bottom)
I forgot about Jack Golders involvement with the Ned Callan and also forgot about John Entwistle playing one

Just done  a google search of Ned Callan guitars and of all things I found a link of Bobby Sands playing one

    Bobby Sands
=) Unfortunately, that is an erroneously labelled pic of Mike Oldfield, circa 1974.

    HarrySeven, I'm here!!
Just got a message from LM! =)

I know of that one, it was in my feature I did about Peter Cook.http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.com/2011/01/peter-cook-custom-guitars.html

Looking at the image I have, the pick-ups seem to have been changed even then, which is a real shame, as the AXIS pick-ups are really nice. Used and the AXIS range that peter made. http://http//flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.com/2011/01/peter-cook-axis-bass-and-guitar.html

I had, what is considered between me and Peter, the nicest AXIS guitar, which after several conversations and a visit to go through loads of his old stuff, I was persueded to hand it over to him. http://http//flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.com/2016/
On a separate note, this is some of the stuff Peter had stored in boxes. http://http//flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2017-09-27T05:05:00-07:00&max-results=8&reverse-paginate=true All sorts of parts/templates.

Top job on the new aquisition - looks like it is going to need a little TLC.

If it is OK with you, I will email a link of this feature to Peter - he may have something to add.
    Please let me know.

    Cheers. : )

    Very Much so! : )

One thing he dislikes, in a big was is any reference to Pete & Dud and seeing as you have already covered that, perhaps best leave it alone now. LOL!! =)
If anyone is interested in a feature on Peter and his work, my search began around ten years ago: http://flatericbassandguitar.blogspot.com/2010/07/peter-cook-custom-builder-where-are-you.html
If you click on the link below, that is the sort of start of it, whe you get to the bottom, click Newer posts. You may have to scroll through a few other posts to start with but then it becomes a bit more joined up later on.

    Cheers, : )

It wasn't intentional!  I was genuinely curious, but I knew we would inevitably divert into Derek & Clive territory... Glad to know he's still alive and well.  :)

Philly_Q, no worries at all - he won't turn green, increase in size and rip off his shirt. Looks like HarrySeven is guilty of posting up the pic! LOL!

As I said, very much alive. He is also involved with Tom Newman (produced Tubular Bells) in a band called July and has been since the sixties. Psychedelic sort of stuff - very popular in the day, sells out gigs (did the last time I looked) and the original vinyls go for big $$$$. Discography: https://www.discogs.com/artist/407720-July-3
