New England - tips, highlights, guitar shops?

Righto, we're off to NY followed by Boston & New England "in the fall". Never been before except a single gig played in a dive in Boston a long time ago, so looking for ideas. 

What's good? Any really great places to eat? Any good driving roads?

And most importantly... any really great guitar shops?

Ta. I have the In-laws' TG access, so all good.

I think we have a 2-week route mapped out, with a couple of days in Boston at the beginning and a couple of days in NYC at the end. I need to get a fun car sorted next  

I don't dare go guitar shopping as shipping is too much of a pain. But I do like to look at any locally-made fx pedals when I go places, so will have a google for anything interesting made in that neck of the woods.

Can't tell if this is a joke about being a drug mule, or a genuine request. Either way I'll have to decline as we're flying direct from Abu Dhabi!
