I remember buying a box of a selection if dark chocolate in Bruges, each bit was marked with the different type and %ge. Eating it felt like indulging in a weird chemistry experiment.
I had a selection box too at Christmas ,it was galaxy
Nothing wrong with Galaxy, it shows up Cadbury's for what it really is, crap.

With high percentage dark chocolate, take one square of it and let it melt in your mouth. Don’t crunch it up. Completely changes the taste and experience.  The bitterness fades.

Doing it now, tiny piece, like 1cm sq.

The problem is that with zero milk content it takes much longer to actually melt in your mouth.  When it starts melting you get bitterness and chocolate flavour but zero sweetness.

That is the taste you get and it gets stronger as it melts more to cover your mouth.  May be it is an acquired taste, but i don't think it is nice or enjoyable. the way you would ever associate chocolate.  It is tolerable, just not something I would ever eat as enjoyment.   In fact, I would say as far as if you only limit yourself eating 100% chocolate, it would put me off eating it completely.

It's like eating raw butter, while it is great on toast, great melted, you wouldn't ever eat it with a spoon.

Montezuma 100% is my favourite, plus I occasionally buy the one with almonds and the one with the orange bits to change things up a bit. They make a bar with orange and geranium, which sounds rather hippy-ish, but is amazing if you can find any for sale anywhere.

If it has almonds, orange or geranium bits in it, it’s not 100% cocoa.

    Per 100g

Fat 54g (33g of which saturates)
Carbohydrates 8g (of which sugar <0.5g)
    Protein 12g
    Fibre 17g
    salt 0.02g

Curious that the list doesn’t add up to 100g!

Scarper lads, it's the cocoa Police! ;)

With so many comparison web sites out there, how do I choose the best one?

I always thought 100% chocolate was for cooking with? I never realised there were actual bars for instant consumption! You learn something new everyday.
Tomorrow will be a good day.
