I was tagged on the previous page so I’ll not divert the conversation any further.

Yes, I can honestly speak from experience and say that it is not easy getting a name out there. Regardless of what anyone thinks about the guitars or the brand I think a little respect is due to the guys for giving it a go.

We all have dreams and goals. Some people act on them. Some people don’t. There is no right and no wrong in that, it’s just the way it is. I can’t speak for their business model or their products but I wish them all the best with their venture. I’m sure that they’ll adapt their outlook and processes as the business progresses.

Fender headstock shapes can indeed be enforced.

Body shapes cannot on the other hand - Fender was too slow to defend/challenge so courts ruled against them, declared their trademarks invalid. Hence they are turning up the heat on headstock copycats - failure to enforce means they would lose those too!

I totally agree, and hope that they read the positive suggestions in the spirit in which they were meant.

I stand by my opinion that launching a premium brand online requires beautiful photography and needs to be a significant part of the budget. I realise they'll be spreading their finances thinly, but I don't think it's something they can neglect.

Wouldn't you think they would have stopped SVL then, with them being of the highest profile and possibly the most expensive. Kind of ironic too because Simon works for a major Fender artist.

It can be enforced. Whether they choose to do so or not is up to them.
