They did come to the conclusion that old wood does make a difference, although their samples were much older than most of the guitars that we talk about.  They were comparing stuff that was 121 to 296 years old to recently cut stuff.

As said its a pinch of salt moment Andertons are fine people for selling you a guitar but in their videos when it gets technical you can see Lee or Chappers squinting to see notes on the subject. They sell so much stuff that frankly they only really try to be very generic. You will get more hardcore guitar info for spending 20 minutes asking a few questions
