Low profile / low annoyance strat knobs ?

As much as I like my Revelation RJT-60, it has the worst volume knob location ever, really gets in the way, whereas normal strats are fine for me. That mother**** has a sharp top edge too.
Can anyone recommend a straight replacement knob for standard splined shaft that looks somewhat ok but has a smaller profile ?
There's probably not much that can be done height wise, I reckon 0.5-1mm lower is the best that can be done while fitting the shaft, but a smaller diameter and smoother top edge would help.

I could also file this one a bit but given that I don't have a lathe it would probably end up wonky.

Parker used rubber ones that are roughly the same shape and (I think) slightly smaller.

Nobease (terrible name!) used to make small, push-on rubbery plastic control knobs. These can still be obtained on eBay.

Budget, domed top push-on Telecaster style knobs might fit the bill.

My inclination would be to pack something non-compressible into the pot shaft slot then, use replica Fender "witch hat" amp knobs.

I generally fit Fender amp knobs to my strats - I think I saw it done on a Mayer strat a few years back, but it seems to work and makes them slightly lower profile than stock, plus I prefer the look!

    *edit* these, not witch-hats!

  • I got my Strat modded by Feline Guitars to a two-knob, so it’s like a Tele - one volume, one tone. Plus the tone is a push pull knob that engages the 1st and 3rd pickup together. So no more pesky volume knob sitting right by the strings! Best thing I ever did to it! :)
