Thanks Steve. Always wanted one and the price was crazy good because of the repair. This one has DiMarzio Fred & Evos :)

Too much gain... is just about enough \m/

I'm probably the only member of this forum mentioned by name in Whiskey in the Jar ;)

    Yuck.

    Desperately in need of cleaning!

I always thought they were quite decent - I never really liked the mother-of-hairbrush pickguard and the banana headstock, but they were well-made, comfortable to play and the switching was pretty versatile - they probably missed the boat for being really successful though.

And of course it wouldn’t be a proper Gibson without a neck break... or two.

Friend of mine had one of these (different colour) when they first came out. I remember it being amazingly easy to play.

Extreme modding and cleaning is forecast.

There is a lot of love for this.  What happened?

We'll be seeing them getting collectible next, and then reissues, and someone will moan that the wrong mother of hairbrush was used for the scratchplate on the reissue.

Launched off the stage, hit the deck and broke at the headstock and the body, repaired and hasn't moved since.

I had one of these in a natural finish with no scratchplate. Got it in a trade for an MIJ Jackson plus cash. Gigged it for about 10 years and it was a great rock guitar. Eventually sold it for twice what I paid. :)

Yoicks!  That's cool.  And a proper relic.

Has it had breaks at both the headstock and neck/body joint?  (Edit: Ah yes, I see my question was answered two comments up)

i remember seeing these in guitar magazines, late 80's early 90's !!
my sister used to watch a teenage programme called  California dreams, I walked in one day and saw jake playing one!!
there was a few episodes where it had the silver gibson logo, then after that they put black tape over the logo.
