Washburn Nele - N4 Tele

What's Hot

Just wrote about these last night and think they look sweet. A bit expensive, but the switching could be fun, if a little confusing.

Not my cup of tea. The wood all looks to light coloured for me, I never liked that positively weird neck join, the headstock shape just no and that switch looks horrible. I'd rather have a 3 way and a couple of push-pulls myself. On the plus side, I really like the basic Tele shape and I'm a sucker for reverse headstocks.

So yeah, I'm sure it's a fine guitar but not for me.

Looks like a cool guitar but will he ever actually play it ?
There have been a fair few variations on the Nuno over the years but whenever I’ve seen him interviewed he seems to stick to his original one

Nuno does play it on at least one track on the forthcoming new Extreme album, and fair play to him and Washburn for trying something new rather than to just trot out the same old ‘variations on an N4’.

At $3600 for a Standard and $4370 for a Deluxe I reckon these will only be built to order for Nuno obsessives with very deep pockets.

Look very 'functional'  I'm sure they are great, Washburn USA's generally are but they could do with a lick of paint or a nice stain IMO

The gold hardware would look really nice against a darker wood.  Against a pale background it looks like cowboy trash.

I sort of like it but if I were going down this path I probably get a Kotzen tele

Weird, I swapped an N4 for a Kotzen Tele.

I've got a Kotzen strat - that probably says enough about me and any bias I have

They look a bit like Chapmans to me. Still would want to play one tho.

  • Not as appealing as the strat, nice idea that doesn't really work in reality for me.

In some ways I think the scaled-down Tele shape looks better than the scaled-down Strat shape of the N4.  And I always love the look of swamp ash.

But I'm not so keen on the finish/hardware choices and I don't think the headstock works with the body shape.

They reminded me of @digitalscream custom telecasters.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

Looks uggo and a bit cheap and nasty.

    Would love an N4 though.
My Trade Feedback Thread is here

Been uploading old tracks I recorded ages ago and hopefully some new noodles here.

They could have called it the Frankenstien with that bolt on neck.

I actually wanted to make one :)

The funny thing is, one of the first guitars with the SEC neck joint was actually a Tele-shape, way back in the late 80s.

Six string saddles on a Tele?
    That's just wrong.
They look very boring. Why would anyone buy one of those when they could get a real Tele for far less?
    And that headstock is dreadful.
