Maple neck/board. Tacky Telecaster

I've tried to play my 52rei telecaster and forgot how Tacky the neck and board is. It s much worse than the maple neck on my strat. After a while it feels gunky and grubby. How can I solve this problem. all help appreciated. I don't want to devalue it with my incompetence many thanks.

    It will get better over time.

    I've had several guitars with nitro finishes and the stickiness wears off after a while.  The more you play it, the quicker it will happen.

    Rub a little guitar polish in and buff it up to a shine. You'll have to reapply occasionally but it works very well.
