Which keyboard are you using for DAW and midi with Windows 10?

Hi looking for a recommendation on the above. I used to use the Edirol PCM-50 but it's obsolete with Win10

I just use it for the odd keyboard parts and triggers of samples etc.

Don't want one too big one too expensive just to work.

how many keys do you need?   I wouldnt use less than 61 - and prefer 73/76/88 but Im a player.  

full sized keys, or mini ones OK?  Need aftertouch or not?  need control other than "notes" (such as rotaries for filter sweeps etc or pads to trigger those samples)?

used or new?

Also - define "too expensive".  That means different things to different people.

That might be hard.  My normal sub £100 board recommendations are 49 key.  The 61s get more expensive especially with aftertouch...  Ill have a think.

These are both new prices - but at £140/£180 you could get them in budget used (if you can find one) if you cant stretch to new.

Hum -= dont think either have after touch.  That might be the sticking point.  Rolands A800 Pro does - its more £ at £245 new - but you might find a used one around the £100 mark I guess.

I dont have aftertouch on any of my boards currently and I play live.   Its useful, and if it was a choice of with or without on a similar spec'd or priced board Id have it - but ??  If I need it I use a foot expression pedal to add it.

That A800 is a good price. If you can cope with 49 keys, I have a mint A500 Pro for sale much closer to your budget. PM me if interested.

I've had a lot of controllers, from 25 key all the way to 88. My favourite is the Native Instruments A61. Superb, and great value. It's a good form factor too, nicely put together, and the keybed is good.

I've also got a M Audio Keystation 88 which isn't bad. Build is a bit flimsy.

A certain Mr @Dodge has forced his mint Roland A500 Pro on me and with being the laziest midi guy in the world it was easy for him.

For what I need it for I'm sure it'll more than suffice.
