Aged 83.

Very familiar figure - warm and funny man from what I remember over the years.
Tipton is a small fishing village in the borough of Sandwell.

Loved him throughout the radio years.

Another old school wit & entertainer gone. Sad, but 83 is a fair innings.

A great loss - he was a walking encyclopedia of variety performers, and very good one himself - saw him in panto at Wilton's music hall a couple of times as the dame - he was great ! RIP Roy
Imagine something sharp and witty here ......

Remember meeting him in the street in Leicester when I was a kid. Would have been early 70’s, he was doing some filming.

we stopped to watch and he came over and said hello and signed autographs. Very much an old school, nice human being.

Sad of course but as has been said, it seems like he had a good life.

When Nicholas Parsons died not so long ago it made me wonder what Roy Hudd was up to (although I don't know if there was any connection between the two other than the Water Rats).  I saw he was 83 and thought oh, he'll be around for a while yet.  Sad to see he's gone so soon!

My youth was full of such great entertainers, always sad to see when one passes on. Roy was all over TV when I was growing up. Yes, he was from a bygone era, but it was a wonderfully innocent time the like of which I don't think we will see again.

RIP Roy, thanks for the memories.

My first recollection of a stage show featured Roy, a panto in Richmond in the early seventies.
