Paul Weller - On Sunset trailer

Here's a trailer for Paul Weller's new album 'On Sunset' presumably referring to Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles.

Will there be hints of Americana in the new album or just more songs with the occasional slightly odd chord changes, not quite catchy enough tunes with his strange vocal inflections?

I quite like him, by the way... I've got about half a dozen of his albums, although they are generally a bit patchy after Stanley Road.

It might grow on me but I find his voice so grating these days.

Well, here’s a thing. I got On Sunset on Friday and been listening to it a lot. It a breezy, dreamy summer soundtrack of an album. It’s the first solo album of Paul Weller’s that’s really grabbed my attention in many, many years.

I like it, it’s the sound of coming out of lockdown and grabbing what’s left of the summer and I like the whole California breezy sound that permeates the album and promotional videos.
