Looking to build a lap steel or repair a broken one.
Or possibly a s/hand one? Anyone selling or have plans I could buy?
Thanks Jon

A lot of the early ones, ie 50’s Selmers have quite wide string spacing, something I struggled with.
My preference is a boot sale acoustic with a nut raiser, good luck in your quest.

Occasionally you can get good second hand deals.

In fact just bid on this.

If you want to build I could measure my old modded supro for you:

I recently got a new "Rogue RLS"  from Amazon for cheap to keep at my teaching room.  The tuning keys were crap, a new set took care of that.  Not a bad instrument considering.  I should point out I'm in Canada.  I also got a cool 60's Guyatone from Reverb.com that just happened to be located in my home city. Here's a pic,

  • I have a Revelation one that’s decent (and inexpensive- £150) I put some custom gauge heavy strings on it. Don’t forget to budget for a good tone bar too.

I like my Shubb GS1 bar. It’s not cheap, but it feels and sounds great.
