So last August I saw a couple of guitar bodies on here and had not long come back from a trip to a famous Hertfordshire guitar shop where they had a gold thinline tele paisley custom shop for sale at north of £6k. I decided I wanted a paisley thinline tele so contacted Scott at @GoldenEraGuitars paid my deposit and commissioned the build.
A teal / turquoise paisley thinline tele with a maple neck and board with an oversized headstock with radioshop pick ups and only lightly aged with nitro checking which has been done perfectly... I want to put my own wear and tear on it. There is no wear on the body although in some of the pictures it looks like there is body wear but it is just reflections.
Fast forward to today and the guitar arrived.
What can I say...Scott has knocked it out of the park with this one. The quality of the build, hardware, playability and tones of this guitar have blown me away and it doesn't look to shabby either.
As my username suggests I play predominantly ska and reggae in a couple of bands and also do some dep work for other ska and reggae bands. I play mainly on the neck pick up and between Scott and Radioshop they suggested a slightly overwound neck pick up because I wanted a nice fat tone from it. It sounds fantastic in all positions and the pick ups are well balanced. I've only played a couple of hours on it so far but it feels like I've had the guitar for years already. I am beyond happy with it.
