Toasters

What's Hot
I'm moving house on friday, and both me and my flatmates are toasterless, which is a predicament nobody should have to find themselves in. Can anyone recommend a good toaster which is also very cheap (I'm a student)

I've never owned a decent toaster, they are all too small and the bread doesn't fit. I think you need one of those big industrial ones. The wife uses our latest crappy one, I use the grill.

as you're a student, a cheap Twatcos one should suffice.

Mine's a Dualit which I've have for years

My daughter and her fellow house mates each bought one small kitchen item, toaster, kettle, toastie maker etc, they are all 'no brand' supermarket efforts and all seem to be working 2 years on.

  • Dunno how I got roped into this thread, my only contribution on the subject of toaster-purchasing is procrastinating so long that the one I wanted to buy went out of production.

That said, I do have a very smart, and fashionable Hinari toaster I might be persuaded to let go.......................

I forgot about this thread, all toast shaped gaps in my life have been gratuitously filled with crispy fluffy goodness for breakfast, lunch and dinner, nutritious and delicious

Get that one that looks like Darth Vader and toasts his image on the bread

I have a cheap old Philips thing that's lasted years and still makes bread go a bit burned perfectly well.

I'll get a Dualit when it dies, but it does the job ok

I recently spent £5 on a metal contraption for toasting bread on a gas stove in my camper. It has proved to be the worst investment of my life (the toaster, not the camper).

Bread can be on there for 10 mins without even a hint of toasting. Unlike your finger if you touch it, which gets toasted to death in 1 nano second

Pah. If I'm having fake poached eggs, I want them fake-poached in something more quizzical.

Take your pick. They're all pretty cheap.
