Shit, I'll really miss him on 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue' as well as his Goodies & other work.
Apparently Covid-19 'related'.  :'(

Really brings it home when it's someone you've spent years listening to on Radio 4.

    Sad news indeed.

I saw him record a couple of episodes of I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue in Liverpool a few years ago. He was sharp - but lovely with it. One of those people you feel you know because they’ve been around for so much of your life. RIP.

That's sad news.  I hadn't seen or heard him on anything recently but he's one of those people I remember extremely well from my childhood.  RIP.

Just left a tribute for Sir Stirling, and now this. My childhood is dying. Loved the Goodies, and was privileged to see them on their UK tour a few years ago.

    Rip Tim.

I know it doesn’t ever get repeated ( I think as it would be terribly un PC now) but growing up I loved the anarchy of The Goodies. A precursor to The Young Ones in my mind ( and that gets trotted out like humour holy scripture).
I have been an occasional listener to I’m Sorry and he always seemed pin sharp and funny. In my mind’s eye he’s eternally about 25 with a floppy fringe and a Union Flag waistcoat.

    RIP.

Ahh, made myself laugh and cry. Poor Tim.

One memorable ISIHAC answer to ‘complete the quote’

Oh man that is really sad news. I've been a fan of his work ever since The Goodies and in more recent years listening to lots of his radio work in the 60s that's been broadcast on Radio 4 Extra. He was delightfully funny, like a naughty schoolboy with a wicked sense of humour.

If it wasn't for Python we would have been lauding The Goodies for decades. I recently found a few episodes of I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again, they'd never get away with that nowadays.

Sad sad news. I was another of the Goodies generation, it was unmissable TV when I was growing up, so brilliantly funny. I love their ongoing theme where one of them became the 'baddie' and the other two were the good guys. He has been superb since then on the radio.

RIP Tim, thanks for the great childhood memories

I remember literally laughing until I hyperventilated, collapsed on the floor and was unable to speak for several minutes during one of the Goodies episodes - it might have been the lighthouse one, but I can't remember for sure... they were all fantastic.

It's odd that they've been so nearly forgotten compared to Monty Python now, but perhaps the humour wouldn't be so appropriate today for various reasons.

    RIP Tim :(.

Pity. TBH, I expected Garden or Oddie to go first. Either way, it is probably time to bring "... Clue" to an end.

That is entirely the fault of the BBC. Decades of staunch refusal to repeat a programme that some executives believed was for children. Hence, the need for the 2018 remastered boxed set. (Certificate 15!) Meanwhile, the corporation happily repeats Hello, Cheeky on R4 Extra.
