@prowla what's the Badfinger one, please?  The link doesn't work, because you've edited the original post.

    Ah - fixed now.

    (Badfinger did the original.)
Great, thanks - I thought it was Harry Nilsson from the pic, but I didn't know they did the original.

Also a LOL for Ken Lee  :)

This is an "unofficial" entry. It's hard to compare them, as one was done in somebody's bedroom.

Could've picked any number of his covers but this one

Just so people are aware. I have no idea what any of these words mean.

Susan Boyle's 'Wild Horses' beats The Rolling Stones version for me, hands down.

Leona Lewis' version of Snow Patrol's 'Run' is a belter:

Haven't heard a better version of Mr Soul in all honesty:

There is no 'H' in Aych, you know that don't you? ~ Wife

Turns out there is an H in Haych! ~ Sporky

    Bit of trading feedback here.

Not sure I agree, I think Neil's Unplugged version is pretty haunting, with his harmonica and Martin D28:

  • I don't expect anyone to agree with me on this, but I'd always take Smashing Pumpkins' version of 'Landslide' over the Fleetwood Mac original....

I'm a child of the 90s and was a big SP fan, so for years I didn't even know there was an original version!

Johnny Cash’s Hurt always crops up on these (I love the original and the cover) but I think his cover of Sting’s “I Hung My Head” is a more appropriate example where the cover is a lot better and suited to the artist than the original.

Ok, this one probably requires decent headphones and a darkened room, but it is a genre I find interesting  :)

I like the SP version, but Lindsey Buckingham is sensational on the original, and Stevie Nicks ain't too bad either!

Christy Moores' 'Ride on' is better, IMHO, than the original, written and sung by Jimmy McCarthy
