What's Hot

Build a Nigel Tufnel replica :). Even if the pickups aren't very good it should sound quite good with eight coils in series. Or at least loud.

The ones which came with this kit were binned. They weren’t worth the cost of postage.

You could use them to make a hum cancelling arrangement for your better single coils.

Unwinding and rewinding copper wire coils is a learning experience and a half. Mostly, you will learn how time-consuming it is. Factor in your time at £n per hour and doing it yourself quickly becomes uneconomic.

Arguably, a better way to experiment with surplus cheap humbuckers is to replace the brass baseplate with a steel one. Upgrading the output cable to 4-con + shield format would allow experimentation with clever coil switching options. By this method, something useful can be learned. Maybe, a knackered old guitar can be made operational again?
