Still trying to learn Reaper :anguished:
Helix into Reaper direct using my Nick Johnston strat

I have ordered better headphones as I hear little difference when using certain settings etc and I think it's the lack of dynamic range in the ones I am using for now!

I'm working with an Elton John Tribute band so thought I'd use a backing track from YouTube to practice since we can't rehearse

    Nice playing Paul.

I hope your singer is better than Elton in his back garden!

Sounds good bud.....I’m finding that learning songs and particularly solos take on a whole different pressure when your gonna put them up for listening or especially video !....

Oh yeah, definitely - I don't do much recording - I play live most weekends (or did!) but recording is a new game to me. And there is a different pressure. In this case it's more about how do I record and get a decent tone - I have no idea how to mix a simple track and my lead together so they sound coherent and not separate entities.

Also fun just learning how to do simple things on the DAW like linking channels or cutting items or removing sections etc. I used to work with Photoshop professionally and it's actually quite similar in a way - learning shortcut keys is also critical to operating a program well. Lots to learn

    Nice low gain tone.
    It's not a competition.
