Vibrola replaced with a Bigsby?

Hi all,

I’m looking at getting an ES-355. Does anyone know if it’s complicated to swap a Vibrola for a Bigsby? Will it leave holes, or would the Bigsby cover these holes?

I actually really dig the looks of the Vibrola but not sure on the playability of them. I will probably try to pick one up that already has a Bigsby or is without a trem, but I’m wondering whether a vibrola equiped 355 could be an option too. I would be willing to give it a try, but want to know if swapping for a Bigsby is do-able.

Any tips would be much appreciated,

Cheers!

Why get one with a Vibrola if you want one with a Bigsby?

It’s just incase I came across one that works for me spec wise that happens to have a vibrola.

I’ve not had that much experience with a vibrola, but would be up for trying them out. But I am wondering if it’s possible to swap it out for a Bigsby at a later date should I not get on with it.

If it’s not especially do-able then I either risk trying a 355 with a vibrola knowing I can’t change it, or as you say buying one with or without a Bigsby.

So just seeing what my options are really.
