AT2020 for recording home demos? or something better?

just after getting acoustic&vox down reasonably nicely. it'll be into a scarlett 2i2, unless i splash out on the new m2.

Bothe the AT2020 and the Scarlett 2i2 are up to the job. The next job would be to start working on the acoustics in your room so that mic picks up less of the room and more of the instruments and vocals.

Edit: I forgot to add, GAS means you can always find something better. Better would be to tackle to weak links in the chain first. Once you are at 24bit 48kHz there is no need to go higher, although you can. In time, finding the mic that best compliments your voice would be a reasonable purchase.
