The Supernatural (Peter Green/John Mayall cover) - my band's one take challenge

As we're not rehearsing at the moment, my band's been doing a one-take challenge to send out a backing track and jam over it. My bass player sent me a backing track of The Supernatural from John Mayall's "A Hard Road" album from 1967. If you haven't heard the original it's a reverb-drenched instrumental with loveley phrasing and some beautiful sustained notes that must have been played with amazing touch (and volume) on the original recording.

There's no way I can play at that volume without causing a domestic and having the neighbours banging on the wall so once I'd worked out how to get the sustained notes out of my BOSS GT-1000, here's my one take challenge. It's clumsy and has a fair few  duff bends, but it's OK for a first go. I messed up the volume setting on the last section I think, after coming off the last sustained note, but I was tap-dancing!

Amazing... thanks I’ve been re learning it this morning by coincidence.. I’ve found sone cheeky vibrato and an extra lightly picked note as it’s dying will get me the length of sustain on those long first notes
