5 pts @stratman3142 ; superb playing, sounded like that first passage had been practised 1000 times to nail the sweetest opening bend.  Obviously the opening passage was composed to follow the original vocal melody and beautifully done.

3 pts @Bellycaster really enjoyed that, the first 3/4 sounded like someone was telling me a story, almost in a James Bond film, I felt the final quarter wasn't quite as composed as the rest of it but only a touch.  Great job, well played.

    1pt, err, um,

5 Points @stratman3142 - Agree with Baz, that opening was something to behold and the whole solo generated the right sort of moody feel that sits right in. Some lovely vibrato on the bends and I like how a lot of the notes flowed together. Great solo.

3 Point @fastonebaz - Was greeted with instant Vai sending me back to 1990 with Passion and Warfare. The layers were very nice and harmonic and liked the more laid back feel of the first half. I did feel the backing track was somewhat lost in there. Still very impressive fingerwork as always.

1 Point - Donated to Charidee!

Two very different styles and I like them both.

5 points : @Bellycaster : I just felt it fitted the style of the backing best and created the right melodic mood.
3 points : @fastonebaz : Outstanding playing as usual. Very Vai'esque. Took things in a whole new direction.

IIRC the whammy bar dip/release at the start took 4 attempts. To be honest the whole thing was composed, with the first part following the vocal melody.

Are there any requests for a style for the next backing track for SotM? Otherwise I might just use one of my Riff of the Month (RotM) entries. Or does anyone want to provide a backing track?
