WITHDRAWN: 1981 John Le Voi 12 String.

An old acquaintance passed away a while ago and I've offered to help his daughter sell some of his guitar collection. There is an interesting mix of electrics and acoustics, so I'll be posting each in the appropriate area.

So, firstly, this isn't the usual H7 oddball fare...which is probably a good thing.

Secondly, please bear in mind that any questions may take a short while to answer.

Finally - some of these have already appeared on a Midlands-based Facebook group, so a few of you may recognise one or two things.

I'm waiting for some further information on this one - I believe she is getting in contact with John Le Voi re. the guitar. All I have at the moment is this:

12 string with Indian rosewood back and sides and spruce top. There are some very small blemishes. Ebony finger board. Made by John Le Voi in December 1981.

Price/further info to follow ASAP.

I know John Le Voi’s brother which is of very little relevance really.

Very nice. I could be wrong but that looks like a cedar top to me.

@beed84 - According to info we’ve found online, this model *apparently* has a cedar top, rosewood back, (possibly) walnut sides, mahogany neck and an ebony fretboard with Schaller pearl machine heads.
 
If anyone can confirm or deny the woods used, it would be greatly appreciated!

Well that certainly looks like a rosewood back, and it’s very uncommon to see different woods used for the sides vs the back. So, without properly seeing the sides, and unless they look noticeably different to the back, my guess would be that they’re also rosewood too. 

Very nice 12-string either way!
