Sourcing candy finish paint in the UK for guitar pedals

Morning all,

I'm building a few pedals at the moment and really fell in love with BJFE's finishes whilst researching how I may paint them. I found this thread which describes the process:

https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/how-to-paint-bjfe-styley.1548944/

... which links to a very handy tutorial here:

I know nothing about finishes really, I've always just used plain old enamel paints. The tutorial calls for this metallic, translucent 'candy paint' finish (which looks very MTV Pimp My Ride) that allows the cool dremel swirling to show through. The automotive products recommended can't be sourced in the UK, and I've been struggling to find a similar product here. The only stuff I've found seems to be specialist custom finishing shop products which charge a high premium.

Does anyone know of any products which could be used for this kind of finish here? I'm wary of just walking into Halfords and buying BMW black or whatever.

Thanks -

Ash
