What’s your favourite Multitracks you have heard?

What's Hot
After listing to a few bits & pieces on https://cambridge-mt.com/ms/mtk/ have started to look at what else is available out there.

For me hearing Quincy Jones talking before the take on Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” & David Williams fantastic rhythm guitar will be as close as I will ever get to being there.

Please don’t post any links.

You can get hundreds of multitracks by downloading the mogg files used in Guitar Hero and Rockband. These are stems which have the processing rather than being raw but are still invaluable to hear in solo'ed form. Especially as a covers guitarist ... you always played what you thought the part was and then when presented with the multitrack you realize you've been playing a combination of 2 parts or similar.

Search for isolated guitar \ bass \ drums on Youtube as well .. some real gems from VH, Lukather, Knopler  and may others

My current favourites are the LZ2 ones.. not the whole album though. Some interesting things bounced down together with solos and vocal ad libs sharing a channel.

I really like the Earth Wind and Fire ones that were doing the rounds too - Boogie Wonderland sounds like Chic or Jamiroquai depending on what you mute/solo.

PG’s vocals are really amazing when you hear them isolated.

Where do you find these files? I'd love to hear the Peter Gabriel ones.

I've searched multitrack and mogg / ogg but can only find covers or midi karaoke backing tracks.
There is one link that looks to be PG stems, but it's a Russian link via Yandex so I'm wary of clicking it.

I only lucked into a set of WAVs from ... ahem ... Katy Perry's "Roar", so I've got nothing to compare it to. (It popped up on a gear-related forum and then got deleted quickly.)

Not at all my sort of music, but fascinating to hear how deeply uninteresting some tracks are when soloed, but yet how much they contribute to the overall width and depth of the track. In my naivety, I thought such track wouldn't even get recorded, let alone kept to the end.

Conclusion: mixing is a dark art.

The vocals on Monuments, I the creator are fucking beasting too.

In fact often with multitracks its the vocals that impress me the most, there are some guys that are the absolute top of their game.

There's some vocal stacks in that monuments track that are so fucking tight you have to check that you didnt accidentally mute some of the parts.

a search for 'remix stems' should give you what you want, the full Chinese Democracy album, in 'rock band' form s a revelation, and the Death Magnetic  remix experiment is worth a look.
