Variax 700 nasty artefact on top E

Hi everyone - I've just bought a Variax 700 Acoustic, and it's lovely and I love it, but there's a nasty artefact on the sound of the top E string.    You can hear it at this recording on google drive https://drive.google.com/file/d/1r2yQSsZuo4pWG7FY34wvm4km_j-lx2WY/view?usp=sharing

It's only on the top E, and it exists no matter which guitar voicing you select.  

Does anyone know what it will take to repair this?
