SOLD - Beautiful Maton BG 808 L - Pre Emmanuel - Queensland Walnut, Spruce, Rosewood Case
What's Hot
I'm only selling this as I never, ever, play Acoustic Guitar. I bought this purely down to three things; It's beautiful, I'm Tommy Emmanuel fan, and It's an 808 from a time before the Tommy connection (I think), so a bit more affordable, and lastly, it's beautiful.
It's from 1998 and is in wonderful condition. Hardly been played in it's time. All original, including original Maton Hiscox case. Frets are like new, neck straight, sounds lovely. New set of Daddario's gone on it today, and put back in it's case for the new owner.
Information from internet says, BG808L is an orchestra-shaped acoustic guitar made by Maton
Guitars from Australia. One of very characteristic traits of Maton
models is the extensive use of Australian wood. Walnut, maple and other
wood types which can be found in Australia are used for these guitars.
BG808L in has a non-cutaway body made of Queensland walnut
back and sides with Queensland spruce sound board on top (although one website says red Cedar), Top panel is
equipped with ivory binding. Rosette design
is described by the manufacturer as being "mosaic". Bridge section on
this model is equipped with a regular belly-shaped bridge made of
rosewood.
Neck is made of Queensland maple and it`s attached to the body with a
dovetail joint. Rosewood fingerboard has 21 frets.
Guitar is located in Portree, but I'm happy to post via UPS if it helps.
