    Great job.

I wish I was capable of this as I ended up getting ceiling to floor bass traps from Blue Frog Audio. I'm pleased and they make a big difference. Have they done the job?
My skills are nothing special. The hardest bit was getting 100mm wide timber as it’s not a standard finished size. The other tricky bit was getting the RW3 in lockdown. It’s not available in normal DIY shops and a lot of suppliers ship by the pallet.

Still need to build another 3 panels and mount them before I know if they work.
    That's great and well done.

If that's you're projected costings, you've probably done it for a third of the price :+1:

@ChrisRG - can I ask where you got the RW3?

I can get it online easy enough but they all seem to want about £25 delivery charge?

Thanks @octatonic   I’ll give that layout a go. I have a pair of presonus eris 3.5s so nothing high end but I’m sure it’ll make a difference.  The room is a compromise though due to it being a home office and containing a junior drum kit.
    It will.
Last week I made an MDF stands to raise the height of my screens & Yamaha HS7 studio monitors & I definitely notice the difference with the tweeters now at ear level.

@spark240 I had to bite the bullet in the end and go for the £25 del charge.  I got mine from https://www.builderdepot.co.uk/. Their min order is 3 packs (each pack has 4  1200mm x 600mm slabs).  I didn't mind getting the 3 packs as after the 4 panels, I'll probably end up building some super chunks and maybe some clouds.  It also meant that the del change was a bit easier to swallow!

Thanks.  After I was done with the treatment, I was thinking of upgrade to some HS7s.  Will definitely get some stands.  The speakers definitely need to move back in order to form the equilateral triangle as well as raise up.

I really like the pair of HS7 I have, could probably do with buying a subwoofer further down the line as some stuff I was listening to over the weekend (Timbaland/Aaliyah/Missy Elliot & Darkchild/Brandy) could definitely have done with some more bass.

    https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/yamaha-hs7-hs8s

    If you can afford it it might be worth you going for the HS8 monitors as that should bring some extra bass & weight due to their larger size. Although you are in a slighter higher price bracket with that model & may well be better looking at another brand.  @octatonic ;
knows these things much better than me.

Off the back off the RW3 question, I thought I'd list the materials I used and where I got them from.

    RW3
    As above https://www.builderdepot.co.uk/

    Wood
The RW3 is 100mm thick but getting planed 100mm thick timber off the shelf is impossible.  It's 100mm rough sawn which is then about 94mm planed.  I called up a local timber merchants (https://www.forestrall.co.uk/) and they planed some timber down to exactly 100mm x 20mm.  In hindsight, 20mm is probably a tad thick.

    Fabric
I used Camira Cara fabric from https://www.kirkhouse.co.uk/.  There are cheaper fabrics out there but this looks great, is available in loads of colours and is flame retardant.
For the back of the panels, I used some weed control fabric from B&Q.

    Hanging
I haven't got to this point yet but I've got 2 options, French cleat and keyhole hanger.  I've not decided yet but I'm tending towards the French cleats.

@ChrisRG I was thinking of putting my Nordell stands in the classifieds soon (they are these ones:  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072N7TWFY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ) . I've been using them for my Yamaha HS8s and they are really good. But the problem is that I'm a shortarse, and when I sit down the stands don't come down quite enough for me to be at the right listening position, so I'm going to move to a different solution. PM me if you are interested.

This is the stuff that GIK extra use. Good stuff. it's not clear the size per pricing unit on their website unfortunately.

The cara material is sold on a 1.7m roll and ordered by the metre.  The price is per metre and the min order is 5 metres.  So a minimum order would be 5m x 1.7m.  That would be enough to wrap 5 panels (if you used cheap stuff for the back).

I used heavy duty dust sheet material from screwfix, it’s a great heavy weight cotton, about £12 for 8m. Quick iron and stapled onto frames, looks superb.

Still need to move the studio around a bit and mount them in the right places.  I'll be taking @octatonic advice and will be getting some stands for the monitors and will bring the desk forward a bit.

Although I haven't hung them properly, I've put them in the roughly the right place and it's already made a big difference.  It may sound odd but the music seems to be more focused in coming out of the monitor in front of me if that makes sense.

Anyway I've got a week away in a few days but I'll post again once I sort the room out and will then take some measurements with Room EQ Wizard.

So, I've started messing around with placement of the monitors and panels.

Monitors are now on stands and are about 15cm from the wall.  The panels are set up 1 on each side and 2 on the back wall.  At the moment they are just propped up at about the right height.  I'll fix them once I'm happy with the setup.

I've run a test with REW and I get the following waterfall graph.  Seems I've got a big issue at around 83Hz
