good luck with it...i've done it a few times, but only needed to do it on the wound strings...the first time i did it, i didnt even know there were such things as nut files...so i used a piece of the actual string and that worked fine. Since then, i've used nut files, but to be honest i still like using a peice of the string to do it...its a lot slower process and takes longer but also means that i never over do it.

I have a set of 4 used Stewmac files up for grabs that are used but not knackered (I change my sets once a year to keep the sharpest tools available in the workshop)
    Set contains 0.012/0.016, 0.026/0.032, 0.036/0.042,  and 0.050/0.060

This is what they look like on the stewmac site - 6 files shown (we only have 4 we are selling)

Ideal if you only do a few guitars now and then  rather than multiple ones every day.
Want £40 (new set from Stewmac will cost £83 once you pay the duty and tax)

Many guitars have a re-sale value. Some you'll never want to sell.
Stockist of: Earvana & Graphtech nuts, Faber Tonepros & Gotoh hardware, Fatcat bridges. Highwood Saddles.

Pickups from BKP, Oil City & Monty's pickups.
