Making a basic music video

What's Hot
Can anyone tell me where to start with making a basic music video? I’m looking to piece together existing footage, rather than film anything myself. I guess I’m after basic video editing software and a source where I can search for and buy (as cheaply as possible) existing video footage.

Thanks

VideoPad Pro editor for Windows is about £26 ... there are various others too. Our latest video was done on an Android phone using an ap ...... just shot some video, thought of some images to match the song  and that was it. Literally done on a phone.

If you've got a Mac or an iPad, then iMovie is a free from app from Apple and so easy even I can use it. Well, the macOS version. I've not tried the iPadOS version.

Look up Kinemaster for Android if you have that phone. You have to pay to get rid of the logo, but otherwise it's free and can do some good basic stuff. Anything more flashy and I expect you will need to do it on a computer.

Thanks guys - ease of use and lots of video tutorials are good too - for that reason I like the look of Adobe Elements. I don't mind investing a little in a new branch of my hobby. In comparison to what I've spent of music tech in the last 20 years, 80 odd quid doesn't even register!

Adobe is good, but there is a learning curve ...in a blatant plug for my own stuff....this was done in with Elements 15..

I went for Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 and I found it very DAW like - pretty intuitive. Knocked together this for one of my songs - I know it's pretty basic, but it was great fun doing it:

Anything I've done so far has been done in Reaper.

I rendered the audio down and added "video processor" to FX selecting "Combine: crossfade through inputs", which just cascaded through the videos I added a second or two at a time with no control from me.

The tune was done for the current covers challenge and video was done for my own amusement.
