  • @monquixote have you owned both the ds1x and OD200?

Do you know if the ds1x is in the OD200? Any thoughts between the 2?

I quite like the distortion effects on my H9 so I may also go and have a play in the boss digital world...

I have not tried the OD-200

I have tried a number of the pedals it contains

The Power Stack is a decent pedal.
The OD-1X and DS-1X are both fantastic although quite unusual.
The Brown channel from the katana is a bit fake.

I haven't tried the metal core but it won round ups of metal pedals on Andertons and Ola.

I was wondering whether to try the individual pedals or just get an OD200 really.

The ideal would obviously just try the OD200 and save time money and faffage vs getting single pedals, but there seems to be an appreciation gap of the dsx vs the od200.

Perhaps they do sound the same but the relatively more complex interface is just putting people into a bad mood!

It's an algorithm so it should sound identical.

The sliders on the CBAP seem quite robust but I’d be concerned about dust and dirt clogging up the track they run along.  Ive recently had my board out at home for a clean and was surprised just how much dirt there was on my pedals.   Surprised because I use a programmable switcher so I’m not stomping on the pedals but there was still significant accumulation.

  • There was a fun preamp/overdrive pedal a few years back with motorised pots.

No idea what it's like for its fun to watch in action!

  • I have properly set mine up with MC6 and very happy with it - covers everything I want and the MC6 makes it easy

Sad to say mine has already had to be returned as faulty. The pedal just stopped producing any noise. Everything worked, and the it crapped out (for want of a better word) and after that....nada. Sliders still working, presets still changing, but no glorious noise.

So it's gone back, and I'll have to think long and hard about buying another if it's going to fail so soon after buying.

    Sad times indeed.

  • That is a shame indeed @Vintage-T. Interesting that CBA are working on a protective cover already, although why they didn't think of that before launch...

That’s an inelegant solution for a very elegant pedal

I'm wondering if they've had more broken ones than they were expecting.

...I bet that cover will be £40+.

Really it should have shipped with one.

  • That cover looks hideous and judging by the Instagram video doesn't work properly either. Why on earth would they release that video?

    Maybe a prototype?

  • It's definitely a prototype, if you click on the post they say as much. They also say their engineer would hate them posting it. Probably because it doesn't look great...

its a fantastic sounding pedal, maybe a see through cover would be the way to go...
